Depends on the binge. You can't binge on crappy, sugary processed crap and lose weight, despite restricting.
I used to restrict for 6 days of the week, then on Saurdays I'd binge on lots of fruits, corn chips and guacamole. Wasn't a huge binge but more than I normally ate. It helped keep me in line for my 6 restricting days. I lost a lot of weight this way.

This is how I am -- I'm not really consistent, I'm constantly flip flopping back and forth between restriction and binging. When my binge days are really frequent or more than just once or twice a week, my weight will yo yo a lot (or worse, I'll gain).

However, a few weeks ago I got into the habit of really low restriction and an OCCASIONAL binge day and weight started melting off me. As long as the binge days are just that - occasional - you can still lose weight.

That's how I got to my low weight.
Look at calories on a weekly scale. If you average to under your TDEE, you'll likely lose weight in the long run.

My binges were usually around 2,000-4,000 calories, I think. Maybe one or two times a week, not every week. I don't know how much I was restricting. But it compensated for the binges.

Yes, but I gain it all back. :( as of now, I'm feeling like trash, even though I was high restricting, I got the urge to binge, so I've binging this WHOLE week, and I look like a whale.

Yeah, I used to restrict to 300-400 most days but end up bingeing 1-2 times/week. That being said, the binges were usually 1200-2000 cals because my stomach was so shrunk. Still felt like shit about em though. But I did lose weight, it was just at a slower rate than I felt it could be.

yeah I started restricting ( 700-1200) in January and I'm doing this for about a month now.

6 days restriction, one day binge (I tried to limit it, but always ended up at about 2500 of junk food) and I execise a lot...

I lost sustainably without plateau, from January to now about 9kg
