Is it just me, or does everything taste fucking amazing when you're restricting? Pre-ed, I liked veggies enough, but there were times where I'd be like "ehhhh not in the mood" and now, the thought of plain celery sounds so delicious. The only things I don't want to eat now are high calorie or grain based. I've always hated bread but now it loathe it.

I remember at my lowest weight I ate some oatmeal that I usually didn't like and my brain was like "THIS IS FUCKING AMAZING!".

I think it's because our brains are trying to get us to eat so we don't die and so they make everything delicious.

24/7. Plain celery, mustard, onions, entire heads of lettuce, chicken, plain oatmeal, etc. doesn't matter what I didn't like before, I like it now lol.
(I'm b/p subtype or just have BN but still restrict when I'm not b/ping idk) and this morning I ate half a frozen waffle, that you're supposed to heat up, while binging, and I was like holy fUck this is amazing hahaha.

I had the opposite experience recently. I started to binge and everything was just tasting bland. I remember bingeing before and everything was amazing, but ever since I quit drinking and haven't been able to drunk binge it's just not as good. I kinda miss it but I guess it's a blessing?

Yup, when restricting/fasting, everything sounds really good to me. Ill be craving to fucking eat rocks just scattered on the ground outside when i go for walks. I could eat grass or rocks or whatever the fuck you gave me if i didnt gain any weight from it, lmao.

When you're not eating enough a few things happen -- you're probably going to go through some sort of detox, which will reset your taste buds I like to say. Taste buds get affected by eating things like heavy sugars and fats. They won't work as well but if you're eating less/eating cleaner they have a chance to go back to how they should be so that things like fruits and veggies, which we should be eating, taste good.

The second thing is, if you're restricting, it's legit a taste bud Jedi mid trick to get you to eat more. The taste buds also work as if when you want or need food, they make things taste really good. When you're satisfied food will stop tasting as good.

You may notice at the end of the binge, you're like, xyz thing that I had didn't even taste good. That's likely why. Maybe only the first few bites tasted good. But the last thing you'll remember is it not being very appealing. Your taste buds do this to signal for you to top eating.

A few days last week, I craved Wasa thins. They're these disgusting cardboard cracker things and I hated them but for some reason they tasted like heaven?? Then I thought they would taste better with Dijon mustard, which was a gross combination but it tasted even better!
Long story short, they made me nauseous but I thought they tasted good enough to binge on them.

Ended up throwing the rest of them in the trash.
