How to have a consistent shitting schedule without the calories?

I was heavily restriction before being forced back into eating, which opened a Pandora box of shitting issues. A few weeks ago I was prescribed a week of laxative use after a year of ”recovery” since some x-rays showed that I have an impacted GI system (gross, I know). Even after I got mostly cleared out, I’m still not shitting on a regular schedule. It feels aweful, but my dietitian said to eat at consistent times. I’m trying to lose weight again, so that’s not going to happen. I was wondering if anyone can relate or have some weight loss friendly tips for me? Thanks <3

the tags made me burst out laughing 💀

i manage to go regularly nearly ever single day, simple, no strugles, and heres how i manage to do it

fibre:
chia seeds, oatmeal, fruit, vegetables, lentils, chickpeas, beans, cocoa powder, keto products, be careful and increase slowly so you and your stomach dont experience heavy side effects

magnesium:
spinach or supplements, helps a lot.

for probiotics:
any fermented and pickled products, yoghurt, kefir, even oatmeal, kimchi, sauerkraut, pickles, good for the gut and digestion

for caffeine:
hot teas such as green tea, chai, black tea, earl gray, all types of coffees

water:
drink enough water, building blocks for the body, and helps the fiber pass through the body, caffeine is also dehydrating since it makes you piss and take shits bc, well, lax and diuretic, so you need water

light walking and stomach massages:
stimulates the digestion system, even just massaging your belly and lower right side of the belly, and going on a light walk really fucking helps

high restriction:
i know, the same as "eating more" but sometimes the digestive system works less when youre on such little calories because thats what the body is used to, and its trying to preserve energy and since its low in cals, it works slower, so high res gives it a bit more energy to keep things like your digestion going

keep on pushing, we can get through this shitty time

Psyllium husk and lots of water. If you do take psyllium, start small and build up gradually. And did I mention LOTS of water?

Also the eating regularly does actually help. It doesn’t mean eating x times per day, necessarily. I do OMAD, sometime between 1-4pm usually, and most days I poop somewhere round 7am. If my eating schedule changes for some reason, it fucks with my digestive system and the poop schedule gets out of whack for a few days.

THIS.
I have been on the osmotic lax recommended to me by my treatment team from years and years back; it has been a lifesaver! But I’ve had sort of chronic constipation all my life, even before the ED (ED probably made it worse, but I had a lot of trouble going even before it…)

Even with the osmotic, I also make sure to drink lots of water — and try to get at least 20-25g fiber in 🙂
Definitely don’t overdo the fiber, though! I used to take those tablet supplements and found out (from my nutritionist) that I was actually making it worse by doing so 😅

Stool softners works for me.
NOT laxative like ex lax but, simple stool softners
They get me going again.
Balancing hormones can also be a big factor.
Fiber supplements like benefiber, start out slowly, drink PLENTY of water.
Magnesium can work well, pills, gummies or drink powders. All work the same for me.
I do a 3 day "colon" cleanse usiny herbal pills once a month and that has helped the most. Its called Weekend Colon flush if you want to look into it
Caffeine can help
Of course excersize
Fruits and veggies and seeds
Healthy fats in the diet
Managing stress levels (easier said than done I know!)
Good luck!!
