Do you have a symptoms 'timeline'?

Possible TW.

When you're lapsing/relapsing, do you find that the typical ED symptoms show up in a certain order? How long does it take before you can feel it? I feel like mine happen abnormally fast :(

EG of when I recently lapsed into restriction:

Day 2: Exhaustion and dizziness begins

Day 4: sore muscles and foggy thoughts

Week 2: Mini black-outs, starts getting cold
End of month 1: Hair fall and icky skin/nails, shaking

That's as far as I've gotten, but I know from prior experience that it only takes around two months for my pulse/BP to drop, to develop hypothermia and lanugo and to have an arrhythmia.

Does it happen this fast for you guys? I feel like everyone else dances around on their restrictive diets for months before they start seeing all of the awful things that it brings. Any ideas on how I can limit these symptoms? I'm already finding it hard to function normally.

Time lines are all over the place but they usually show up in this order
Hair loss (take biotin)
Limbs falling asleep (don't keep them to far bent
Muscle aches (potassium)
Coldness (suck it up buttercup )
Pale skin (iron)
Black spots upon standing
Bruising easily (iron)
Brittle nails (biotin/clear polish)

I don't really know how to get rid of black spots or coldness.

Copy/paste from a random site:
"sometimes when you stand up or change positions quickly, your body's vascular system doesn't have time to respond appropriately by constricting the veins in your feet and legs. When this happens, blood pools in your legs temporarily and the blood flow to your brain is very briefly affected, leading to symptoms like dizziness or black spots in front of the eyes. You can solve this problem by staying well hydrated, by changing positions slowly, and by talking with your primary care doctor to determine whether you might be taking any medications..." Blah blah blah that's not what's goin on here... ;)

Also: get an electric blanket! They're pretty cheap this time of year and I cannot tell you how much I LOVE mine! Amazing for the chronic cold complaints!

Probably:
Day 2: Coldness
Day 4: Limbs Falling Asleep
Day 9: Dizziness
Day 11: Bruising
Day 14: Muscle Soreness
Day 16: Fatigue
Then symptoms just keep getting worse after that

wow. all this shit sounds so miserable. I am so glad I don't have any "ED symptoms" aside from low blood pressure. I only start to get low blood pressure when I hit a BMI of around ~16ish and have been restricting for a while. when I'm b/ping my blood pressure is barely under normal (like 70/105-110) but as soon as I start to restrict again it drops back down to the 55-65/85-95 range, when I drop to BMI ~14ish or lower it is more like 45-55/80-90. OH and I forgot I do lose a little bit of hair despite taking biotin when my BF% hits around 10% (doesn't have as much to do w/ weight as BF% I've found for me), if I don't take the biotin the hair loss starts a month or so into restriction, but biotin helps a TON and my hair still grows super fast despite the fact that I lose some in the shower/brush or comb.

I'm currently at not my highest weight (118lbs and bmi of 18.2 so technically underweight still) but 115lbs rn at 5"7.5 so I'm technically underweight but I'm just starting to restrict. And so far I get really dizzy, always cold and when I stand up everything goes black.

I have a general order, not so much a timeline.

Cold is always the first thing

Muscle weakness/fatigue

Being constantly tired

Bruising easily

Dizziness on standing - although since taking iron and a multivitamin this seems to have lessened a bit

Limbs falling asleep/cramping

Body hair getting darker - it's really weird and annoyingly seems to happen on my face

Brittle nails

I haven't really noticed hair loss, there are benefits to having really short hair!

Quotes being weird but Nicotinenutrition, yes. It is completely miserable. I wonder why I get dizzy so fast? Everyone else seems to take longer.

The best way to remove these symptoms is obviously to stop restricting... But Ana is a bit of a bitch, so I'm struggling with that. Hopefully if I up my vitamin intake it'll improve a bit.

Really sorry if I'm hijacking the thread....but do I need to hit a certain weight before I get "symptoms"? I'm freakin exhausted all the time but that's been the case for so long it's kinda normal for me. I've just put that down to depression...I feel cold all the time too and my nails snap a lot anyway. Just figured that was me right now. Just curious...I don't want them....but I figure I've got far too much chunk for my body to live off

Again, sorry if I'm hijacking

honestly I don't think it takes a certain amount of weight loss to see the symptoms. obviously if you're losing weight the healthy way (healthy diet and exercise) you won't get these. I've only lost about ten pounds and I've experienced pale skin, coldness, headaches for days, and hair loss - lots and lots of hairloss.

Thanks for the reply :)

I'm doing ABC so yeah....not what you'd call healthy I guess. But they can all suck it. This weight has got to go. And all anyone is saying is "good job" when I tell them of any weight loss so hey...

I shed hair worse than my dog....I've always lost a fair amount of hair. But thinking about it.....

I'm on topiramate for migraines. Comes with the awesome side effect of appetite suppression. Since I've been on it, I've been freezing cold, shitty nails, losing a fuckton of hair. And so not hungry. And then it hit me not too long ago that I might actually be disordered after yet another crying, self hate episode....

Sorry OP.....thinking aloud on your thread

eh, it all seems to be random for me. but then i'm restricting differently to last time. how much are you eating? i find that now i'm eating more than i was last time i'm still losing weight (i don't notice it much in the mirror but i can compare photos and see a big difference) but the symptoms aren't as bad. if i go under 700 i start to get really cold and tired and my fingers turn blue and shit but if i'm eating above that the symptoms aren't as noticeable.

All good, it's an interesting question. I'd have to say no. In my initial 'beginning' restriction (i.e, before I knew I had anything other than bulimia) back in 2013, I was getting symptoms less than 5kgs/11lbs down from my high weight (was still classified as overweight when I started getting symptoms). So I don't think it's about weight - though hypothermia and black fingers and lanugo may be - but more about what amount of hell you're putting your body through.

I just wanted to say that Selenium helped stop my hairloss. I get it at Walmart for like $2.47. It's cheap and worked remarkably well on my hair.

Hyperactive
Loss of appetite
Drowsiness
Apathy
Mouth shut (find it hard to even drink water)
Cold and blue
Eyes begin to look bloodshot red
Veins in face begin to reemerge
Muscle deterioration pain
Uncomfortable sitting or laying down
Hair loss
Heart palpitations
Chestpain
Anxiety

Then it all goes downhill from there....
