Before my ED, I used to come home from school and scoop several LARGE spoonfuls of crunchy peanut butter into a bowl, and then drizzle honey all over top. Easily 500-600 calories for a small snack…. Crazy

pre-ED I would eat like 2bowls of cereal in the morning, whatever school lunch was, a snack when I got home like some goldfish and a cupcake or whatever, then I would eat like 2 massive plates of dinner, and then have ice cream as dessert. Insaneeeeee!

i would routinely crush a mcdonald’s 20 pc chicken nugget, large fry and large sweet tea every single saturday from 8-10 years old. i remember in the 4th grade my friend was bragging about eating an entire 10pc chicken nugget box by himself and the other kids reacted in shock. i was shocked too, but shocked to think someone would actually struggle with the 10 pc box…

Bowl of raisins as a snack. Think my parents honestly though it was healthier than candy or crisps but holishit must have been at least 100 g / 400+ kcals

Pre-ED I would eat English muffins with butter and peanut butter (a generous amount of each) and the cal count blew my mind once I was a calorie counter. I would also eat breaded veal cutlets stuffed with ham and cheese. Calorific!

Big muffins you get from bakeries. Like 550 cals/muffin. That’s half a day’s food now!
But when the seasonal pumpkin ones come out… I make space in my cal budget.

Genuinely looking back on what I ate as a kid and the amount of cal I would have consumed per day was crazy. Kinda puts things in perspective bc I wasn’t fat then but half the height and ate more. But when I ate out I would eat like a full pub meal like a whole rib half rack and chips. And even daily things like I would go to fucking town on sourdough dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar as a snack 💀😭 to me it’s really interesting ?? The distortion between what the ED brain thinks is a lot of food and what you actually need to eat to gain weight.
Oreos (●_●)

Peanut butter and butter sandwiches. Plural. As an afterschool snack. Before an entire supper.

Whole boxes of famous amous chocolate chip cookies, whole bags of hot Cheetos, and routinely would eat like 5-6 pieces of pizza whenever it was pizza night for dinner.

Spoonfuls of Nutella 👀

Havent touched nutella in over a year. Even with it in the house, too many calories to even binge for me lmaooo

My Dad would make what we called "one-minute cookies" (the rest of the world calls them no-bake cookies). I would eat almost the whole batch while they were still hot, with a spoon, before they even hardened. That was just a kid's overindulge though.

Pre-knowing about calories as an adult: I used to make simple no-bake granola bars from regular peanut butter, oats, honey, brown sugar. I would cut them into enormous bars, and eat them as snacks because they were "healthy."
