What do you think of kneading bread as an exercise?

So today I made some bread for my boyfriend (no bread for me this month!) and I kneaded it for 15 minutes. It feels like work- I'm squishing around this dough, I'm punching it, I'm putting all my weight into folding it- and it occurred to me that, as long as I don't eat the dough and I give the bread to someone else, then making bread can be a fun workout once a week or however long it takes for my boyfriend to eat the 2 loaves of bread without me. Also, we are poor and making bread is 4x cheaper than buying a loaf and making it from scratch makes it taste like that expensive artesian stuff. I also make pizza dough for us from scratch, and it's a similar light (for me) workout.

Anyone else find that food prep can be a workout?

Am I just crazy? I'm in charge of the cooking for my boyfriend and I, so I spend a lot of time cooking stuff. It kinda occurred to me that it can sometimes double as a workout...

I've noticed that kneading bread tones my lower arms because I don't have a lot of... anything? there, so a little muscle development seems to -pop-! I do like to dance around the kitchen when I cook and meal prep for my other half.

I don't know that it's exactly a workout, more like just being a bit more active. So I'd say I wouldn't log it anywhere, but it's a good thing in general to be moving about rather than sitting down.

That makes sense! Kneading bread is definitely not on par with my strength training, but it's really fun, and I think it's especially good for when you're stressed because I generally wind up putting all of my weight and effort into folding the bread early on and then punching it a lot later into the kneading.
