Season three of "Fargo" depicts a brilliant and deeply frightening antagonist called V.M. Varga, portrayed by David Thewlis (Professor Lupin from "Harry Potter"). V.M. Varga is bulimic and has rotten teeth. During the season there are scenes of him vomiting and picking his swollen gums to relieve the pain.

What do you think of that representation of bulimia? I believe it's pretty spot on in many ways:

- Varga uses bulimia as a coping mechanism, in fact he controls everything surrounding him but gets wild on food;

- If i remember right, Varga believes that slim people are seen as more reliable.

- The teeth, THE TEETH!

Ok this thread is super old, but I just started watching Fargo and just came across this scene and I believe my jaw hit the floor so hard it created a basement.

First, I obviously noticed the bad teeth but just thought "bad guy, bad teeth, kind of a cliché."
Then came the scene where he orders like 10 dishes and devours them, stuffing his face as fast as possible, no dignity involved.
My thought: "Man I wish I could be a guy, eating whatever in a super sloppy way, not caring."
Then the bathroom/vomiting scene. First, I felt triggered. Then curiously relieved. What a great representation! Raw, unfiltered, rotten teeth included, plus, a guy with an ED! Props to the producers.
