for example i know olive oil for cooking/salads is seen as a big no-no, but it’s literally one of my fave condiments and it’s so nutritionally dense despite being fatty (it’s actually the good fats btw) so i have it with every salad!
what is one of your go-tos that you regularly eat and don’t freak out over, but other anorexics would probs find horrifying? 🙈
(sorry if this is already a thread! will delete)

Seconded on cheese. I get low fat versions that are generally between 25-80 cal per serving and it makes for a good protein boost, especially since I hate most meats 😅 Also helps with salty/savory cravings

bananas 😭 i don't know WHERE the whole 'bananas are bad for you, they're so many calories' stuff started, but i will not tolerate slander on one of the only fruits i actually go out of my way to eat

I don't really have any fear foods (except for maybe butter and oil, but I still can force myself to eat them to seem more normal when I'm with others lol).
I eat a small portion pasta and sugar free ice cream almost daily. And I know that I would have eaten other sweets if I'd actually enjoyed them...

I actually used to have a ton of fear foods, but it ultimately led to binging and worse health outcomes, so for now I try my best not to develop any fears

Most high fat foods tbh, as long as the calories are accounted for they're really filling and tasty so I don't see a problem. I'm vegan so that might be part of it as I kind of struggle to get fats in my diet as is. So yeah, nuts are def a safe food, I might not be able to have that many but tbh 25 grams of peanuts is enough! Peanut butter is another one I'm obsessed with it atm the macros are so good. Jam is surprisingly low calorie and as long as I combine it with a protein (like peanut butter!) it's safe bc the sugar will give me energy immediately and the protein will stop a crash. I have maple syrup on my porridge every morning which isn't very Skinny Legend of me but w/e it makes it so much tastier.

certain processed foods i eat are not low cal but they are fortified so i will eat them. i love fortified soy milk vanilla flavored. others will say that’s a waste of cals but its worth it to me. i don’t enjoy original no flavor so i wont eat it. i eat these oat chocolate biscuit things that are fortified. it’s my on the go snack. is it healthy or low cal? no but i don’t let myself eat sooo many foods let me just have this. i also eat one very specific brand of mac and cheese because its fortified. is it low cal? hell no but it’s delicious and has so many vitamins and minerals fortified in it so it’s worth it. it’s also so easy to cook when i’m busy and tired. i won’t eat it if it isn’t fortified tho cus it feels like a waste of calories. i also don’t care that my gummy vitamins have calories cus they’re easier to take than massive pills. it helps with all of this that my tdee is 1800 cals and i’ve been easily maintaining my weight at bmi 15s. being bmi 15s feels safe to eat maintenance so i’m not starving and my metabolism isn’t wrecked.

honestly that type of mindset/lifestyle is goals to me ~ is that controversial here? 😵‍💫 i don’t mean to romanticise anything ed related but maintenance at a low weight while still enjoying nourishing and tasty foods and not feeling wrecked 24/7 ~ i’d argue that’s ***ultimately what we’re all after 🫶🏻

***editing to change my comment to “what a lot of anorexics aspire to” as everyone is different and i don’t want to assume 🙏🏻

Big fan of oils and margerine. Also chocolate, candy bars, gummy candy, sweet spreads, non-diet puddings and yogurts, bread, pasta, pancakes, cookies, smoothies, cotton candy, cheese, all sorts of convenience products really. However my stomach is sensitive to things like gluten and I'm vegan so some of these might be different from the more common varieties. Only ingredientswise though calories are usually the same.
