Tomorrow I'm getting a very large tattoo, it will cover my entire back and may take up to 9 hours. The tattoo artist said it's important for me to have a lot of sweets and have a big meal before I go, she also said to brink a lot of coke, will Coke Zero/Diet Coke do the trick? I know I will probably go over my usual calories so I've already planned to fast the next day but what snacks do you recommend?
Do you have any tattoos yourself?

Tbh I just got part of m my half sleeve done - took 2 hours. And I had only eaten just over 150 cals that day. But I’m a self destructive idiot. Truth. If they hav said to have stuff then do. The coke is prob for the sugar so maybe you Have some boiled sweets or something that are pure sugar but you feel ok with? Just to make sure ur ok x

Bring something healthy to snack on. Also I'm assuming the coke is to keep your blood sugar levels up to prevent fainting? But not everyone drinks soda so I think diet coke should be just fine to give you a caffeine boost

But you do want to prevent fainting so eat whatever you need to do that!

I hope the tattoo turns out well!

Yea I would recommend eating something that will fill you so that you don't go light headed, and diet coke will be for the sugar, so that will be fine.
I've had a handful of tattoos, I never had one that took quite that long but I do have a 3/4 length sleeve on my arm and I always either ate before or just brought a diet coke before sessions

Some kind of trail mix might be good to hang onto just in case you need a boost. I'd also go for something like a naked juice for the sugar and cals to make sure I didn't get dizzy, but I know that's a little much for some people. Better than plain juice or soda tho.

I'm a tattoo artist,
You don't need to eat a big meal just make sure you have lots of sugary things like sweets, chocolate, full fat cola (eek) and maybe some glucose tablets?
Getting tattooed will lower your blood sugar,

Also, you won't be able to get a full back piece in 9h, maybe the line work but not the shading too,
Check out your artists work thouroughly before getting tattooed always as if he is promising to get your whole back done in 1 session I wouldn't trust him, I would never want any tattoo artist to rush a tattoo,
Sorry not trying to be mean just want you to get the best tattoo ever ❤
