I'm in bed curled up crying from the pain

What helps the excruciating pain for you?

Heating pads, if you have any. Also, I usually sip on room temp water for a little bit. Ginger ale helps, too (diet, preferably) and also just laying down in general.

Hope ya feel better xox

Do you have endo or cysts? :\ I get that too when I have the latter and it sucks... I hope you feel better soon! Painkillers, hot tea, a hot waterbottle or other warm compress for your abdomen and a shower all seem to help

Nah I don't have any of those hun

My cramps usually last about 3 hours but like full force excruciating pain

All I can think about is getting my steps in atm but I can't stand up for too long

But thanks I've had a shower, took some painkillers and we shall see what happens in a few hours xx

Unfortunately I have no heating pads but I'll take a few more painkillers and just wait it out

Idk if this could help anyone else, but for me it works. I've noticed that when I fast on the days leading up to my period I get little to no symptoms. Like no cramps, no back pain, nothing, and light bleeding. It's amazing and I can't believe I haven't heard anyone else talk about it and I haven't found anything online about it so I hope it's not just me. But it really helps me. The only downside is that you have to be good with fasting, and I know that can be hard for some people. But if you are good with it then maybe give it a try.

And on the months where I forget to fast and have to go through a painful period, honestly what works for me is just trying to sleep through it. I can't move or even pay attention to anything else. I just lay in bed in pain and try to fall asleep since usually when I wake up most of the pain will be gone.

Hope any of this helps and sorry you are in pain right now. Just try to breathe through it and it'll pass x

I get excruciating cramps too, and my Dr prescribed Ponstan to take for the day before/day of my period. It's a strong anti-inflammatory and it also lessens the amount your uterus contracts, so makes the cramping less and also makes bleeding less heavy. Worth talking a dr about as it can make a huge difference if OTC meds and heat packs etc aren't making it okay.

Feminax - not sure if you will be able to get it there though

Hot water bottle

Sometimes the pressure of a corset evens out the pain in both lower back and abdoment but obviously that's if you have one lying around that is well fitted. I have an elastic waist cincher that helps too.

ibuprofen! Also go to the doctor and see if you can get something prescribed, like menefamic acid or cocodamol. Grab a hot water bottle for your stomach and try to sleep until the meds kick in. Hope you feel better soon!

Here's a list I've made for myself with random tips I found on Tumblr posts and other websites lol. I genuinely hope that the cramps have already passed by now, but they can still be useful for next time!

SelfCare
- clean your face with warm water twice a day
- do a face mask because breakouts..
- read a book
- start a new tv series or movie
- brush your hair
- declutter your space
- listen to your favorite music
- journal
- try aromatherapy

Cramps
- foods that help with cramps are bananas, broccoli, whole grains, and dark chocolate, tofu, nuts, fish...
- ibuprofen works better than paracetamol. you should take it with food, particularly if you have a sensitive stomach.
- warm drinks, such as peppermint tea and hot chocolate work
- go for a slow gentle walk to get blood flow going.
- use a warm rice sock
- take a hot shower every night
- 4 poses to help with cramps: child pose, bridge pose, butterfly pose and cobra pose
- take painkillers as soon as you see blood. do not wait until the cramps start.
- remember to drink a lot of liquids, but stay away from caffeine and carbonated drinks!

Sleep
- wear your pad farther back when you are going to bed.
- if you bleed like a horror movie, put a towel down on the bed before going to sleep if you think you'll bleed through in the night
- don't keep your room cold at night. cold air restricts your blood flow.
- get to sleep on time. pulling an all-nighter will make everything hellish the next day, or at the very least you'll crash and it'll be hell.

Stains
- if you get blood on your panties, scrub it out with soap immediately before putting it in the wash to loosen the stain
- use cold water and baking soda to get blood stains out. let it foam and rub it in. then let ik soak for a while (up to 15mins). wash it out and it should be gone.

That's all. Take care! <3

Im trying to increase my ginger intake leading up to my period. It's supposed to help with the pain. Usually I just take a few ibuprofens and put a warm water bottle on my lower abdomen. I wanted to try dealing with it "naturally" this time. When I was really low fat vegan I experienced the worst cramps ever. It brought me to tears and my cramps are usually pretty bad. So I increased my fat intake and my periods are pretty good now

I also hear chamomile tea can help
