Old scale...

My family has had this scale for quite some time... It's called, "Health-o-meter" and it's model 800. I'm not sure how to reset the scale to make sure that it's accurate. There is a little dial that allows the user to change what the scale says to a higher weight or lower weight than what the actual weight is. Does anyone have this scale and if so, do you know how to reset it? I'm scared-- I have a doctor's appointment coming up soon and I don't want the doctor to think that I've lost a lot of weight and I want to be able to know how much water I need to drink to fake some weight... I sound crazy but well... We're all sick, huh. :(
