Hey everyone just curious if anyone has any experience on loosing on 1,500cals consistently for a few months before needing to drop lower?
My lowest bmi is 15.2 and I got there through low res and insane amount of exercise but it ended with me almost dead and hospitalized. I have a job and an apartment so I’m trying to start off with like barely restriction to try and ease into it all. I’ve been restricting at roughly 1500 with some lower and some higher days here and there and have lost roughly 1.5-3lbs a week. I guess my question is how long do you think it’ll last till I have to drop my cal intake?
I wish I was loosing more given my TDEE but for whatever reason I’m not.
for reference I’m a 5ft 8in male I weigh 192 rnow so… fat af.
Honestly just any input would be appreciated :)
Hope this made sense 😅

Yes I did this! And so far I’ve stayed ahead of what it’s guessed I would be at so that’s good! I guess I was just thinking I would plateau at some point and would have to drop my calories. But I suppose loosertown does bring down your caloric deficit so maybe it is accurate.

I was losing on around 1500 for a few months, went from a BMI of about 19 to 16.5 before I plateaued and then started gaining again. I experienced much less side effects this way than in previous relapses where I had a lower intake. Some fatigue, dizzy spells, and hair loss, so obviously not a healthy lifestyle, but better than extreme restriction.

I've been losing weight on 1500ish this relapse while being female and on the lower end of normal BMI to begin with.
You could probably loose on higher cals, especially at the start of your weight loss and if you engage in exercise. Best of luck!

I'm literally 5'0 AFAB and can lose on 1500 with enough exercise every day (maybe just 1-2 hours depending on the intensity). I end up with a 300 cal deficit or so. So, most people can lose on that I think, and slow and steady and all that jazz.

Thank you everyone this makes me feel so much better. Physically I’ve been feeling really good on 1,500 and it’s manageable enough and I’m still loosing enough weight each week. I’m hoping to keep this up as long as I can till I get to a healthier weight range and hopefully eventually my gw bmi. I haven’t added in a lot of exercise yet, mostly just walking. I’m kinda saving that for if I start to plateau + I’m healing from a shoulder injury.
