Hello, hello!
I've always been a heavy restricter, and as such, have normally stuck to HCLF diets. But since I've been experimenting with doing low carb, I've found that I'm not nearly as hypoglycemic as I was, even if I eat the same amount of calories.
Personally, I found that the constant state of cold to be one of the least tolerable side effects of caloric restriction. And due to low blood sugar, I couldn't go more than 12 hours without food without getting all sorts of side effects (confusion, shakiness, frigid phalanges, etc.), and was barely a functional human without eating at regular intervals. Now I can go days without eating and still never getting hypoglycemic. Which is awesome, as I hate, hate, hate being cold constantly. As well as the other aforementioned side effects.
I mean, it makes sense, right? When your body stops trying to constantly run on carbs from barely there food sources, and switches to fat for fuel, any issues in blood sugar should vanish. I've tried asking The Google nicely for answers, but mostly what I've found is articles talking about hypoglycemia DESPITE being is a state of ketosis. So I thought I would turn to you knowledgeable bunch.
Was just wondering if anyone else experienced this?
