If you have fainted, has it been ed related or not? Even if it hasnt, how do you experience fainting? Are there any ways you can tell you are about to faint? If youve fainted in public, has it taken long for you to wake up and how has ur surroundings ( people ) reacted?

i go pale. i usually dont have control of my hands. so they're like holding my phone and my fingers keep going out and i drop it over and over. then i'm also usually not fully conscious of my surroundings. i've a few times stepped into traffic or stared at a wall for... a fucking while. i apparently slur, but i can't tell.

I remember I had gone out in town. I was with a friend. It was during the time I was in treatment for anorexia, had no period, and was severely underweight. Suddenly I felt like fainting, and told her I wasn't feeling very well. She was very scared. We stayed down on a bench for a good while till I could walk.

It's scary as heck.

the last time I fainted was in my bathroom and woke up to paramedics staring down at me. I could've suffered a massive head injury but I missed hitting the side of the tub by mere inches. I hate feeling like I don't have control and when you faint, that's exactly what happens.

ive never fainted before my ed so im presuming it’s ed related. my vision goes black, i get really dizzy and i feel my knees buckle and i wake up on the floor. im terrified of hurting myself on something but that hasn’t happened yet. ive fainted twice in public i think. once was on the stairs in my college building, they were empty apart from a guy who is in my class, and when i woke up my head was on his lap and he offered to buy me a chocolate bar after telling me i passed out for a minute lmaoo it was sweet. another time was in a grocery store, but nobody bothered to help because it was in covid times. woke up after a few seconds and walked out like nothing had happened

I think it's different for everyone, but I always feel it if I'm about to faint. First, the back of my head and neck gets really hot and the warmth kind of spreads through my body from there. Then I get intense vertigo and nausea (think being really, really drunk) and my vision starts to get black spots and static. At this point (maybe 30 seconds from when I start to feel the neck warmth) I lose consciousness if I don't quickly get myself flat on the floor. If I can get down fast enough I usually spend about a minute lying there until I can see again and stop feeling like I'm going to fly off into outer space if I don't cling tightly to the rug.
I've only ever fully passed out once, as I get a bit of warning and always get myself horizontal asap, and I was alone, so I couldn't tell you how long I was out or how people reacted. I've had to lay down to prevent passing out at work, though, which is pretty embarrassing, but my coworkers knew I had "health issues" and I'd mentioned to them this happens with me sometimes so they were all really nice and understanding without freaking out about it.

It's usually not ed related for me (well I guess dehydration is technically an ed problem) but I faint from doing an injection I have to get monthly in my glute. I start a little dizzy, then huge wave of nausea. I go pale and sweaty, hearing gets kinda warped, vision goes into almost negative filter (like I see lots of purple and green in a bright room). If I'm not treated I'll go numb and eventually just lights out, wake up on the floor as if I had decided to take a nap down there.
The nurses at my doc office know me for this now, so I'm immediately sat down and observed for 15 minutes before I can leave. They use an ammonia snap pack on me to pull me out of it (it smells horrid and burns the nostrils but actually quells the nausea and brings me back to normal after 5 mins). I've almost fainted 3 times and actually gone down twice in the 7 times I've had it done.

I've had problems fainting since I was a child way before I had an ED, but I have noticed it's gotten worse since I lost a lot of weight. I feel dizzy and nauseous, and my vision starts to go blurry/black and my ears start to ring. I get hot and sweaty and I often puke when I faint so I have to simultaneously make sure I'm low to the ground while also trying to rush to a toilet/trash to puke. Luckily it's never happened to me in public before but it's a fear of mine.

I've only fully fainted once, but ahve had many near episodes (actually took a blood pressure med for a while). When I fainted was about to walk upstairs but couldn't see/very spotty vision and decided to pause at the bottom. Next thing I know my dad is standing over me asking me if I'm okay. He saw and said I looked like a tree falling straight back. Really close to hitting my head on a door hinge. From what I know, the best thing to do when you think you'll pass out is just take a seat right away.

That sounds like petit Mal seizures to me...

ive passed out only once and it was when i was at the worst of my ed. i had been eating <200cals for about 5 months and was fasting for around 30ish hours. i was about to break my fast since i had also taken lax and didnt feel well. so, i got up and walked to the kitchen and next thing i knew i woke up on the floor next to the oven with a sore hip. no one was around to witness it but that moment did push me to tell my mom and sister about my ed because it kinda gave me a reality check

I only passed out once but didn't lose consciousness. My friend asked me if i was okay cause apparently i got pale and sweaty very suddenly. Like I felt really bad and weak and like I had to sit down, then I fell off the chair. It was really weird and embarrassing and I didn't black out at all but like just couldn't control my body for a minute or two.

It was at my LW but I'm not sure if ed related or not.

I once passed out after I fasted for 9 days I had a massive 10k calorie binge on only chocolate and Nutella and suddenly my vision went black and I couldn't hear anything and then I fell off my seat. After a few minutes I was okay again. Another time I fainted after low restricting and purging too much and my heart was just racing and I was dizzy af and I panicked so I was hyperventilating until I fell to the ground and passed out. My boyfriend called the ambulance and turns out it was low blood sugar and a panic attack lol made me feel like a fraud

I’ve fainted bc of restriction/Ed before, but luckily not in public. I fainted in my bedroom and woke up confused on the floor lol. I think you can feel it a bit, dizziness, light headed and not bering able to focus. Haven’t fainted in 1.5 years even tho I’ve restricted much much more. I think my body has gotten used to it or something

It's been really bad. The only clues are this weird feeling I get behind my eyes and feeling dizzy just doing normal movements - thankfully the times its happened to me have mostly been at home with trusted people around to look after me. The worst was right after a shower and waking up bleeding with my girlfriend panicking. It hasn't happened in a long time though - I know my limits pretty well now, and try not to do things that get me into the danger zone.

i faint all the fucking time lmao i have low blood pressure. worsened by my ED, but was a problem even when i wasn't restricting. i legit have to tell new ppl i meet never to call an ambulance if i just randomly collapse, because i'll come to in a minute and it's no big deal

for me it comes in steps. the first thing is i see dark spots. then my hearing gives out, and i go deaf. then i go completely blind. then i feel like i'm going to throw up or die. then i pass out lol

sometimes this happens slowly and i have enough time to stop it- usually by the time i'm deaf i'm like FUCK gotta sit down and put my head between my legs. other times it happens within about 5 seconds and i don't have time to do anything. i usually garble something like "Oh no" or "I don't feel well" and then i pass out lol

i often will throw up when i come to, which is embarrassing.

i usually lose hearing in one ear first then get extremely dizzy then like a dark blue slowly or quickly covers my vision and i open my eyes on the floor or i have enough energy to navigate myself before i fully pass out while being blind and deaf lol

ah, my favorite story to tell.
back in high school i used to show up every day off of some kind of drugs. my lucky pick for this day was dxm. if i was eating breakfast on a day, i always ate it in my first class. but this day i couldn't eat because dxm gives me the worst comeup nausea. so at this point i hadn't eaten since my first class on the day before. i started feeling weak and i couldn't focus on anything. everything going on was just background noise to me. i wrote it off as simple comeup anxiety. i survived my classes up until the end of my 2nd one. you know when you stand up too quickly during a fast and you start seeing stars while the room is spinning? i got that x100. it was so bad, my friend had to walk me to my next class- he walked in front of me and i walked behind him with my hands on his shoulders.

this is when it all starts kicking in. my mind was completely quiet up until this point. when my friend left, i started walking into my class. i took 3 steps and suddenly thought "something is wrong". then immediately my vision started blurring like a vignette filter. i had just 1 millisecond to realize i was falling before i went down but i couldn't understand why. i felt myself smiling, saw the floor getting closer to me and heard myself hit the floor. i blacked out at this point.
when i came to, the first thing i heard was walkie talkies and people freaking out. i felt like i was just waking up from a nap. i was slouched sitting at a desk (lord bless the unfortunate soul that had to pick me up) with a bunch of people surrounding me. i was really confused and couldn't recognize anyone's face. everyone kept asking me questions but all i could do was repeatedly say "what happened?". it felt like my brain was on autopilot saying this- as if someone else was saying it instead. when people told me i just passed out i couldn't understand. i was out for maybe less than 5 minutes since class hadn't started yet.
people asked me what happened but i thought i just OD'ed, so i definitely wasn't going to say that. someone asked if i had eaten that day that's when i realized i didn't. that was probably the main catalyst since i only took my regular dosage of dxm. when i got home i got a lot of messages telling me what happened. but i was still confused and completely devoid of emotions. this didn't wear off until i woke up from a nap. so yeah, just lots of confusion all around.

I fainted once, but I didn't know I was going to faint. I have felt dizzy every time I'd get up too fast before I fainted, but never really cared.

I didn't feel pain, my chin landed straight on the floor and burst open (I now have a tiny scar there) and I only felt it when I realized that I was bleeding.

My mother was home and she got really scared, so that wasn't fun

When I came to, I have to say that it felt like my brain was asleep and jerked back to functioning. It's like when you're in a deep sleep and suddenly someone wakes you up. My insomnia was really bad back then and that faint felt like it was the first time in forever that I got enough sleep.

kinda ed related: the one and only time ive fainted was a couple of weeks ago when i needed to get a blood test, and fasted all day. felt fine after the test, then two minutes later i couldn't see or hear anything except fuzzing, then i opened my eyes and was on the floor lol. Good times! felt like i was going to die, and i dont think she even took that much blood

I only faint in the mornings sometimes when low restricting. Usually I step out of bed and then hear a loud 'smack' from my head hitting the ground. It's always confusing afterwards, cause it takes some time to realise why I'm on the floor and where the pain comes from. I have chronically low blood pressure (genetic) and a weak heart.

My vision slowly closing in black and all my muscles loosen, I feel like I’m going to vomit and shit simultaneously. When I pass out I often feel like the floor is coming up to greet me, and not that I’m falling to the floor, like if the world was suddenly tipped on its side, I never remember actually hitting the ground tho, which is good I guess. Recently I was sitting on the shower floor with my partner and stood up and blacked out into the glass shower door, luckily he was in there and half caught me, could have ended messy 😢😂

my face gets really cold and my legs start to feel funny and my vision goes grey and i lose all my thoughts. also my hearing starts to ring. i usually get up after a minute. i have epilepsy tho and guys if you think FAINTING is bad. its always a unique warning, like one time i was trying to read a label and i couldnt read, i couldnt make the sounds the letters made in my head and couldnt remember what writing was. then i fell down and slammed my head on like 4 different shelves and pissed myself in public lol. then customers at work found me on the floor. def prefer fainting to seizures lolz
