Hate debating over calories with non disordered people

I absolutely fucking despise when people do this shit. I hate to be mean but this is something I can't not ignore. Like they tell me that xyz has 1000 calories and I correct them and tell The actual amount and then they argue with me and tell me that I'm wrong.
Like no
I can't be wrong.
I know what I'm doing and I wouldn't correct u if I didn't know
My mind takes it as a competition
Like "oh you think you know calories veyter than me?"
And it's only with other non-disordered and family people
Because people who do count calories and fall on the ED spectrum know the actual deal
Sorry if this came off as offensive to anyone but I hate it.

i have like,,, the opposite problem, no one knows about my ED, but they like ask me how many calories something has bc they know that i know it :(

but just reading that makes me super irritated, like if i corrected someone bc they say something has like 1000 calories,,, why would they argue??? girl just look it up if you aren't going to listen to me

I count calories like crazy, weighing everything I eat to get it accurate. But sometimes I wonder how accurate the labels really are.

THATS TERRIFYING, i feel like it should be illegal !

Oh god I hate having calorie debates with nondisordered folks. I feel like it's like arguing with a damn wall sometimes. I avoided talking with my roommates in college about weight loss and calories whenever possible, but it would come up often as we lived in a college party town and idk it was a common topic among people in our age group. They had a horrible misunderstanding of calories and weight loss in general and I would always end up in a horrible mind space after we'd talk about it.

They were amazing people otherwise and they're still some of my best friends, but yeah I would never touch on that topic again with them with a 10 ft pole

I understand you. No one normally talks to me about cals or diet.

My mum however has no idea - she is borderline type 2 diabetes and says to me she doesnt have much "sugar" - I point out she consumes quite a lot of bread, potatoes and other carbs - she states that hasnt got anything to do with it because it isnt "sugar"!!!

OK, there is no point arguing or educating my mother on this because in her mind she is always right. I just accept her take and move on.

PS: This is the woman who advised the ED Consultant that I "ate" - her understanding was Anorexics ate nothing (this was back in the 80's). ED Consultant advised what I was eating wasnt enough to sustain anything!!

Don't even bother honestly, some people are just straight freaking dumb. I use to sometimes get comments about me eating a low calorie chocolate bar in public or a sugar free energy drink, where people would just be like 'That's so bad for you, it's full of sugar or you'll gain so much weight over time eating like that'

Like nah sis learn to read, not all energy drinks are packed with sugar and let the nearly 30 kilos I lost since March/April this year speak for itself. Like I don't need weight loss advice from normies that think they can shove copious amount of high calorie foods down their throat and go for a walk for 20 minutes that day and burn off it all off.

Yes they don't get that a 20-30 minute walk or even an hour long walk doesn't magically make u lose weight after eating like 3k calories a Day and then u can't even argue with them. They think they best :/
