You might want to try the Fasting and Cleanses subforum (under Diets), too, to get more responses. How much you lose, and how dangerous the fast will be, are going to depend a lot on your weight when you begin fasting. If you're overweight, you can probably expect to lose about a pound, possibly a bit more, a day. You'll also be in better shape at the end. When I was overweight, I was able to fast for a month at a time without too much difficulty. I can't do that anymore without winding up in the ICU. If you're weight is in the normal or underweight range, you'll lose more like a half a pound a day and you'll be at risk for some major medical problems. You'd be much better off eating something every day and exercising. You will lose weight that way, promise. Either way, stay safe, please! And keep asking questions.
