I'm currently eating 1,400 calories and my TDEE is about 1,800. I haven't seen much progress but I'm not too worried about that since it's only been like two weeks. But I always feel hungry even though I'm eating a lot. I don't understand. Even if my hunger is mental, it's still there and I still want to eat more. I'm scared and mad at myself. I don't know why I want to eat more, I feel like such a fucking pig.

Your body will get used to it, and get less hungry trust me.

Try to space things out evening, I find I'm satisfied if I have roughly the same calories for breakfast, the same for lunch, and the same for dinner. Also look at high protein foods/high fiber and things that keep you full. 1400 is definitely not a lot at all, and you are definitely in a deficit. I wouldn't eat any lower if you want things to be sustainable/avoid binging.

No 1,400kcals ins't a lot. People on here eat ridiculously and pathologically small amounts because they're sick and its no way to judge what is or isn't 'a lot', which frankly, hugely depends on you as an individual.

If its under your tdee your body is going to react like there isn't enough energy coming in and make you hungry because its energy deficient and that how it keeps you alive.

Anything below your TDEE will leave you feeling hungry, and the longer you have a daily or weekly deficit the hungrier you'll feel

Bodies/brains are designed to survive, and demanding nutrition/calories back when you're at a deficit is a normal survival mechanism.

Believe me, the people here who have been restricting any length of time get a lot of hunger, even if they're at a normal or above normal BMI.

Having AN means feeling hungry much of the time; this is one of the many reasons it's such a shitty mental health condition to have.
