I'm going to have a completely vegan diet (no dairy, meat, honey, refined white sugar, gelatin, etc.) and I can't really find any low calorie recipes that sound good. Any ideas? Thanks :)

I make a lot of big salads with beans, dried fruit or nuts, baked tofu or seeds mixed in to make it more of a meal, but still low calorie. Another go-to is stir-fried veggies and tofu. Use a low calorie sauce like hot sauce. I use mustard, but apparently thats weird.

Soup is very filling for the amount of calories, just use whatever vegetables you like. Anything goes when it comes to soup. I add beans for protein. You could add pasta shells or something, but it would bring the calories up. If I do want pasta though, I like shirataki noodles shaped like spaghetti, in low cal tomato sauce, and topped with sauteed mushrooms and tofu cubes.

One of my new favourites is soft tofu (must be soft), with a tablespoon of cocoa powder and a pinch of stevia blended together. It makes a pudding. I dip strawberries in it. really low cal.

Most of the time I just grab something like an acorn squash, bake it and eat it by itself. Or just a cup of beans with hot sauce. I have odd eating patterns, so its hard for me to think of things that would be normal for other people.

Try this website: http://www.yummly.com/

You can set the filters to vegan recipes, and set a limit of fat/ calories per serving. i find lots of great stuff on there.

Let me know how it goes! It always makes me happy to see new vegans. Congrats on your decision :)

Tofu scramble is good and relatively low cal. Just crumble tofu in a pan with vegetables and maybe tumeric if you have it. I've tried it with just about any spice.
I will also sometimes just bake beans in the oven with spices (garlic powder or sometimes jalapeno powder), depending on how much you eat the cals can be low.
Basically I just do different variations of beans or soy products with veggies, whether that's a salad, soup, or something else.
Good luck!
You may also want to try the app edamam which lets you search for recipes based on search words, calories, and diet.

i eat just beans and sauce too, lol

any veggie or fruit! i love getting a bag of mixed broccoli, cauliflower and carrots from like walmart and some hummus(which is kind of high cal if you eat the whole package, but i try to just use enough to make eating it all raw easier)

salads are also amazing too like sinead said =]

Oatmeal! I love oatmeal haha. I eat it usually with cinnimon but you can put banana and almond milk in it to make it creamy. I also like steamed veggies, they can make up a whole meal with hardly any calories. And hummus is good. I also like plain rice cakes with a thin layer of peanut butter on it. But i hardly have that because of binging. I also know some vegan junk food, so if anyone wants to know they can message me

What I eat which is really filling and fairly low cal is:
1 tin chopped tomatoes (look for whatever brand has the least cals, I've gotten entire tins for like 40 cals before)
A couple of mushrooms, I usually use 2/3
A tiny smidge tomato puree (again look for the least cals)
Whatever beans/sweetcorn/other veg you want (I use like a third of a small tin of sweetcorn usually)
Put the tomatoes in a pan, gently heat while stirring, and then chop up any veg you're using an toss it in, then if you'd like it a bit thicker add the tomato puree and cook it until it's less liquidy (usually like 5 mins for me).

The amount of calories depends on what you put in, but I can generally get it to 100 cals exactly, and usually I can't eat all of it :) it's super quick too, like less than 15 mins to make, if that x
