Chewing gum on keto?

I quit smoking recently so I'm chewing a lot of nicotine gum, it's sugar free but I'm still worried about the carbs. I actually have no clue how many carbs are in a piece of gum but I know it's not carb-free. Do you chew gum on keto, and if so do you set yourself a limit for how many pieces you chew a day?

what brand? i chew trident and each stick has 1g of carbs.

look up the brand, also there are some good sources online so if you're ever not sure whether a food is keto or not, like gum, just google "gum on keto" "cheese on keto" etc

Xylitol gum is helpful at cleaning teeth and is 0.4 grams of carbs per gram of xylitol.

I use spry. I feel like I'm still keto even when I chew spry.

I use nicorette, it has xylitol as its main sweetener unlike most other brands which rely more on carb-free sweeteners like sucralose and aspartame so I'm expecting it to be higher in carbs

But if your gum only has 1g carbs per piece I'm not gonna stress too much, I've been water fasting for 2 days and I'm going to eat less than 10g carbs a day (not counting gum) from now on so should be able to get into ketosis pretty easily anyway

I chew nicotine gum regularly. Some people say that sugar alcohols kick them out of ketosis. And that may be the case. But 1) it's hardly anything in them, so it will probably only be for like 15 minutes, max. 2) you have to only be in ketosis for it to kick you out of it. So if it's the first few days, then don't worry about it.
I don't allow myself a limit f sugar free gum. It's like 1g of of sugar alcohol (not carbs) per gum. So I chew them a lot throughout the day without any issue. I don't factor it into my overall carb count. Atkins makes you deduct them from your overall carbs. So I think it's fine. So I do that, too. It may kick me out for a little while I'm in ketosis, because there have been a few studies on ketosis and sugar alcohols, but honestly, I don't really care if it kicks me out for a few short minutes per piece of gum. Because without them, I would be eating carbs. So it's fine. Personally.

I monitored my blood glucose every 20 minutes after chewing a piece of gum or drinking a diet soda. My blood glucose is abnormally low even with the insulin spike these things caused, but they do cause an insulin spike though you're back to normal after 30 or so minutes. I guess it also depends on how sensitive you are to insulin. And maybe even if you've eaten something beforehand or are consuming these things on a full or empty stomach. I only had breakfast (2 eggs) and I am not sure if the rise in my glucose levels was due to the nutrient uptake of the eggs caused by the insulin spike from the soda/gum or the gum/soda itself. I've done some research and I just don't know but I think that if you're doing everything else right don't worry about it so much. I limit my gum and soda intake just in case, I feel like that's something I should be doing anyway. Too much sugar free anything can't be healthy for me.

Thanks for your replies! The only reason I'm doing keto is to reduce my obsessive thoughts about food, and nicotine gum is the best thing for getting my mind off food so even if it kicks me out of ketosis temporarily I'm not too bothered because my appetite will still be suppressed by the gum. As KissMyAna said as long as I'm doing everything else right, which I think I am, I won't stress about it.
