So I've wanted my belly button pierced for like 10 years now lol but I realllllly dislike my stomach. I was hoping maybe if I have a cute little sparkle in my belly button I would like it more. Crazy I know, what do you think?
Pierce or nah

Go for it if you want to. I had mine done when I was eighteen or nineteen and while yeah I was self conscious because of my weight I still loved having it while I did. I have so many piercings like my nipples, hood, and so on and so on and even though i dislike myself appearance and weight wise I love them soo much. It's totally worth it if it's something you want to do.

In my opinion body modifications are things you should do at any point regardless of weight, because you enjoy them for what they are. I say you should definitely go for it.

I am a huge proponent of piercings, I had 10 at once a few years ago, and I had my belly done throughout all my weight differences. At my low weight and my high weight I found that the belly ring didn't really mean much to me in relation to how I looked - I enjoyed it because it was pretty. So I think you should treat yourself, and don't worry about feeling self conscious. It may even help you feel better about yourself.

I found getting my belly button pierced more of a motivation to want to lose weight. I wanted to feel confident showing it off and I didn't when I was heavier. I'm working to get thinner and lately I've kinda loved wearing crop tops and showing it off as I lose more weight

I remember I got my belly button pierced when I was 12-13. I had body image issues even back then and it temporarily helped with my confidence.

I don't really notice it anymore nor am I one to show it off by wearing crop tops, but I still like it. It's cute. There's a lot of jewelry you can use to accessorize, so overall I think it would help your self-esteem. I've had mine through my highest and lowest weights and I loved it all the same at each.

Piercings have always been a form of confidence for me? Right now I have my nipples, tongue, eyebrow, septum nostril, laberet belly button and a bunch of ear piercings (but rarely wear those). Actually don't wear all of the face piercings at the same time because to me it looks tacky. I've had pretty much everything pierced at some point. Miss my sternum dearly. :(I have always had body image problems, If it's shiny/sparkley it just makes me happy. I love body mods. Also 5 tattoos. It helps me feel more comfortable in my body.

I think you should go for it. It's such an easily attainable way to make your body something you want.

I want a belly piercing also.

But I am waiting until my weight goes down. I don't want to feel disgusting when I'm getting it pierced by looking all flabby. (I'm scared the person piercing me would judge me).

My bellybutton is the only piercing I have that I don't like...

The girl who pierced it didn't pinch enough skin so it is too short and the top part of the jewelry stick outs way to far and looks weird/gets caught on stuff... I got it done when I was pretty underweight- I do not recommend it for underweight people but for everyone else- go for it!

If you want to do it, you should obviously do it. But you should know that body modifications of any kind are not going to change how you feel towards any area of your body.

I got mine when I was 18 (I've had an ED since I was 13; I'm 24 now). Weigh less now than I did then and I wear clothes that show it off LESS now than then
I personally don't think a piercing in and of itself will improve body image regarding your stomach but I could be wrong

In any case, if you want the piercing, you should get it! If you're doing it for you then go for it!

I don't think it will necessarily make you more confident but it will be sparkly and fun either way (I like piercings).

When I got mine done I was 12 or so and I got taller afterwards so it moved and is now slightly above my belly button rather than in it. I would have gotten it done later if I had known but ah well.
