I’ve been taking 50mg of Zoloft for almost 4 weeks but my doctor just changed the dose to 100mg. Has anyone had crappy side effects with 100mg? I was fine on the 50mg as far as side effects go, but I’m worried that I’ll start to gain weight on the 100mg dose. Just wanted to see what your thoughts were, for those who have taken it. I know everyone is different though.

I was on 200mg, I personally didn't feel anything or experience any weight gain. everyone is different so just let it do its thing. If you do experience side effects, just give it a few weeks. It's perfectly normal to experience things but if you were okay at 50 then you should be okay at 11. good luck and stay safe

I went from 50-100 and I had no appetite increase in fact it made me a lil nauseous and couldn’t eat as much for the first few weeks but it caused my to clench my jaw really bad when I upped my dose. I have since found that increasing more slowly helps reduce the side effects for me so like if I was going from 50-100 I’d take 75mg for a week or so, then increase to 100 once the side effects had started to improve :) hope this helps. Sertraline is not known to cause weight gain it’s pretty weight neutral long term. But when you first start on it or increase it can actually cause a small amount of weight loss due to reducing hunger and making u feel nauseous xxxx

I was on 50 for about a month and then couldn't get my prescription refilled for 2 weeks when I was supposed to be upping the dose to 100 right away. I'm just sticking with 50 mg screw upping the dose. The only reason why I'm taking them is to make my parents happy

I've lost 10 pounds since I started taking it and it killed my appetite, but I b/p 3-7 days a week on average and restrict the remaining days so I'm not sure if my experiences are applicable to your situation

I also went from 50mg to 100mg and haven't noticed and weight gain. If you didn't notice it when you first started to take the pill, it's unlikely that it would happen now. For me personally going from 50 to 100 was easier than starting altogether. And overall, sertraline helped me massively with my ED. I've lost a little weight, but that's irrelevant, the most important part is that I no longer binge, like not at all. Sometimes I eat more, but it's no longer all or nothing. I think the main reason sertraline helped me with my depression, is because it helped with my ED first. Going on it has been so far the best decision in my life :)

Oh man. I was always SO tired on Zoloft 100. Like I felt like a complete zombie 24/7.

I'm sure you'll be fine if you're already doing okay on 50. Bad memories, man.

I was on Zoloft for 3 years (50mg I think?) and it made me gain 30kg. I've heard that's pretty rare though - my body tends to react weirdly to drugs :( just gone down to 25mg now and my body is finding it much better.
It's one of the least likely to cause weight gain, but I think some of us (lol me) just get unlucky. 'Unlikely' doesn't mean impossible, @my gp...
