Would you count dancing/skipping while pacing as jogging or something else?

Hello, ever since I was small I made a habit to kind of "dance" in my room when Im alone for hours. And by dance I just mean weird random skips and jumps while walking back n forth in a 2m space until I get drenced in sweat lmao.

I really want to calculate how much cals I lose by doing this but since I dont have a step tracker, nor do I know what to categorize this movement as, its difficult. Does anyone know an accurate "dance" tracker or would you just say this is similar to jogging?

Im not a dancer so its really embarassing showing this to other people or getting caught red handed.

Does it get your heart rate up? It’s going to depend on the intensity. Are you sweating because you’re doing it for a while or the intensity? You could probably track it as light jogging or dancing. Usually most trackers have a category for dancing and intensity. You’re probably burning like 200 calories per hour of light-med intensity dancing. Lower weight individuals will burn less calories but light-med intensity dance is usually 200-300, or more, calories for 1hr, for the average person.

Uhhh I usually get winded from the smallests of tasks but I would probably say its mid-high intensity, like tasting blood at the end intensity. Do you have any recommendations for a good tracker?

if your heart rate is consistently elevated, you can consider it as medium-intensity cardio! if you're using a tracker, jogging works. i'd log it based on time, like 30min of cardio is around 200cal burned.

glad you found a form of exercise that's fun for you <3 ive done that too and honestly it's such a blast!

I’d probably log it as like line dancing or hip hop, just for comparable intensity. And unfortunately no, I don’t track my calories burned. I fear that it’d be too unreliable and that I’d end up eating more and put myself in a surplus. Hopefully someone else has a reliable app though
