i came across this guy on tiktok who films his binges and obvi has mia and it made me so sad and scared for him. all i wanted to do was give him a hug and tell him to stop while he can before he has a heart attack.
why cant i think this way about myself?

I saw something similair where a girl was binging and her glands were swollen and at some cuts she genuinely looked like she had been crying, it felt like some horror film and I felt awful watching but Ik that that's my life as well and that doesnt process for me. Its such a dangerous disorder.

Every mukbang ever looks like this is what's happening. If they aren't huge, I strongly suspect b/p of some sort. If they are, that's still an eating disorder??

What ducks me up about it is the ones with hundreds of thousands of followers that are MONETIZED for it and I just. Gahh, it's dystopian is what it is.

Oh and the rate of prevalence of kpop-ers mentioning they watch mukbangs just cements to me how little they're pushed, or push themselves, to eat. I strongly don't think people make a 🌈habit of watching mukbangs unless they have/had an eating disorder and/or are impoverished themselves to prioritize affording food. Out of curiosity once or twice or a brief phase, sure, but a habit? Genuinely finding them enjoyable? Nah not buying it. CMV.

In America we had a whole movement so the famous who are suffering from ED's are often hiding it, and thicc is ✨️in✨️ so there's less perceived need for people to be pushed into it via their careers. Their branding may even rise on them adopting a body-type unachievable by starving. This reduces odds in media.

This is not the case in kpop/jpop still. I hope East Asian countries will go through a revolution, too. It's almost bringing it back to America with the kpop wave. Then again, History tends to balance between extremes it gets tired of. Like when ankle socks and side bangs went back out lol. Body trends fade in and out like fashion trends.
