But I can’t stop, if i skip a day I feel like I will start gaining weight and lose my momentum. My knees hurt and there is throbbing pain that goes into my whole lower right leg. Does anyone else go through this?

yess this was me for a long time. one time i was out at 11PM during a freezing blizzard because i HAD to burn 250 calories before midnight. i would walk and walk and my knees were killing me. I think it had long term side effects on my legs because I would strain the muscles through walking but didn't do any other exercise

I used to be obsessed with walking, it caused a flat foot deformity in my feet. The only way to stop exercise addiction for me was to quit cold turkey and very slowly re-introduce it. It's gonna suck, but if you want to have healthy working legs and joints in the future, you need to cut back, because it WILL catch up to you.

I’ve dealt with that mental obsession before and I found that forcing myself not to go on a walk actually helped break the cycle. Which was reliving because my legs needed it. You don’t want to end up injuring you leg, because then you probably won’t be able to walk period for an even longer time. Take care <3

I've been battling this kind of obsession on and off since I was 13 or 14 (but with running), and now I'm 33 (and feel this way about exercising in general, but I've expanded beyond running to all kinds of activities like weight lifting, yoga, rock climbing, hiking, etc.).

All I can say is, please listen to your body!!! I have caused permanent, irreversible damage to my knee and foot from when I was a teenager because I ignored what my body was telling me, and I really regret it. I am afraid of what it is going to feel like when I'm middle aged. And it was part of the reason why I started to look for other activities I can do so that I can rotate which parts of the body I am straining, as a way of harm reduction. Perhaps that could work for you? Maybe something to do with your upper body when your lower body needs a rest?

I walk 8-10 miles everyday too! I HAVE to! But I am 45 yo and have had both knees, hips and shoulders replaced so I guess you can say it's a sacrifice! And I have a lower leg issue I'm
Going to see my orthopedic surgeon tomorrow… it may be compression syndrome if ur pain is on the outside. If it's on the inside could be shin splints! I once ran through the pain of shin splints and my tibia broke into 4 pieces… then had a full leg cast on for three months. Definitely listen to ur body!
