Ramen Mono? Thoughts?

I've thought a lot about doing this before, because not only is it pretty cheap (at least if your purchase the instant noodle type), but there's quite a bit of variety out there to choose from.
I was wondering if anyone had attempted a ramen mono before, or has a pretty good idea of how it might turn out. Or even if it's even a good idea really. I've never really done monos before, because I like daily variety, but I figured this might as well be a good place to start.
Though all I'm going to eat is ramen, I still plan on restricting moderately and not overdoing it. Especially considering most are extremely high in sodium.
This would probably yield better results for me if I took the time to made better quality, "healthier" dishes at home but due to lack of money from recently moving and time constraints, I don't quite have the option.
Am I wrong to assume it might be kinda like any wheat noodle mono?
Thanks in advance!

I highly recommend adding 2 eggs and some veggies (frozen broccoli is good!) for some nutrition. Otherwise you're just eating carbs and you'll get hungry very quickly. You could also add in some pb2, and maybe only use half the powder cuz that's a lottt of sodium.

I've done something like this before! I just really like ramen haha. I'd say it works alright.

Oh man, I get full quick when eating ramen, I never got the whole egg thing with it though. I also don't like my eggs runny so lol

for my personal sodium intake and taste, i find a full packet of seasoning is too much so i work around it.

first if im eating multiple packages of ramen a day, ill make the soup broth with a bit more water, half cook the noodles in a different pot (just water), then finish cooking in the broth. ill take out the noodles and spoon in the amount of broth i want, which isn't that much. instead of making new broth with every new ramen pack, i use that one broth pot for that day.

But if op adds other food items to their ramen, it won't be a mono anymore

0/10 do not advise they deep fry those noodles you know so they don't go rancid...

How about a nice rice mono instead? You can add soy sauce, cheese sauce (to make up for the lost fat from the noodles), or just plain salt. But then again anything with more than 1 ingredient isn't a mono I've read. *shrug* cico you'll still loose weight.

I love white, jasmine, or brown rice. I ate it every day during the summer and still like it. Yum.

Okay, this is a super late update to my original post but better late than never right? 😅

As for sticking to classic mono guidelines, you could say I was a bit lenient. As I originally planned, I went to the store at the start of my 2 week mono and bought every individual instant noodle package I'd be eating for the duration of the time.
For variation, all I really did was mix up the brands and flavorings. So.. I mean. Technically it wasn't a true mono, but it was all the same in theory. The only thing extra I did add was a little bit of red chili flakes to each meal because I like a bit of spice.

As for how I felt through it all? Honestly, not as bad as I thought I would. I did end up feeling a bit bloated and full most days, especially in the beginning. I think it was a combination of the noodles and warm broth. On the bright side I wasn't as tempted to eat something else because I already felt plenty full.
For the first few days I didnt notice any weight loss or physical changes. I'm fairly bad at tracking my weight on the scale anyways, but in the beginning there wasn't enough of a change to even dignify keeping track of. After my body adjusted to it, I did however lose around 7.5lbs 🙂 I was drinking plenty of water so that probably helped.

Overall, it wasn't bad. I wish I had been a bit more diligent about taking notes and keeping track. Like I said, this was my first real mono and it was mostly a test to see if I could actually do one. I still like ramen, so that's a bonus, and I might be tempted to try it again some time.

I didn't get completely awful results like some of the horror stories I've read, so maybe this would be a good one to do if it's your first mono like mine.

How many did you eat each day?
I bought enough ramen packs to be able to eat one of them three times a day, but with the way my scheduling worked out it varied how many I actually ate that day. Somedays it was only two a day at the same time, othertimes I had time to separately eat all three.
Again, I'm sorry for not being super consistent. 😅 I might have had different results if I'd been. Maybe it'll be different if you want to try it for yourself?

I'm thinking about it!

can i know your height and starting weight too? im v curious about this

also i wouldve recommended adding a veggie just you could have bm's regularly. i always always add kale to my ramen so if you kept it consistent with the veggie, it would still be following the same general guidelines of your mono
