i'm not technically maintaining but my weight loss has been really REALLY slow lately.

600-800-1000. occasionally 1200. it's really all over the place, i can't tell you specifically how much per day.

am I right in thinking if we eat the amount calculated to maintain the weight we want to be at we'd slowly lose till we're at that weight and then it would be maintained?
for example at 5'7 and 125 my BMR would be 1440, so in theory if I eat 1440 I'd eventually hit 125lb... though I feel like I've been eating less than that for long enough and yet I haven't reached that goal??

5'4 115, I'm active. It says 1,600-2,300 to maintain. I don't want to maintain however.

That is how it would work in theory. But there are other factors to consider, like metabolism and exercise. The weight loss would be medium-fast at first, and then it would drastically slow down when you get closer to your goal. I've thought about doing it that way, but I'm not patient enough, lol.

I think I am going to start to do this.

I am 5'8 123 lbs and still losing at 1400. I have thoughts of maintaining and would like to up my calories but too scared

5'6 and trying to maintain at 48kg which is 106 lbs.
If I have a lazy day I maintain at 1600-1800 but most of the days I work (lots of cycling) or go climbing and then I can have up to 2200-2400 calories. My metabolism is pretty high I guess but I do think lots of people are unrealistic how much they can eat. My BMR is already 1400 calories so.

Roughly 1600 but I've gained on less and maintained on more- depends on how much I move, how little I poop and how much water I drink :p but generally that seems to be the best number.

5'3.5" and 100 pounds
1600-1800 calories usually
not maintaining rn but i know what amount maintains my weight

5'3", 101 lbs, maintain anywhere from 1200-4000 depending upon the day's activity.

Not really sure about the 1200, but it's what I eat on days when I do no activity, which is rare. So the value could easily be higher.

I seem to maintain on 1200 although I haven't tried to eat that long term to see if it just takes a long time to lose weight - not trying to maintain my weight!

want to maintain so please let me follow this thread

so far: on 800 or less i lose

on: 1000 - 1300 i gain

have yet to find a middle ground
