I'm same height and I've been everywhere from 110 to 190 and the only loose skin I have is on my upper arms/thighs. Skin elasticity depends on age, speed of weightloss, and unfortunately largely genetic

If you lose slowly and exercise, not necessarily. Then again some people get it losing less, it's individual.
But if you take it easy and maintain after losing a bit, then lose again, and maintain and repeat, you give your skin the chance and time to adjust to your new size. If you notice your skin getting loose, then it's time to maintain for a while. Building muscle to replace fat it's the safest way to keep your skin tight, but I would recommend help with that.

Water, moisturizer, healthy foods always help keep your skin healthy. Patience is key here.

Great advice. I'm 48 and carry approx 7 pounds of skin, too many drastic weight changes , 250 to 105 back to 170 down to 106. Sucks for me and I wish I would have known.

Don't know about anyone else, but I only started noticing loose skin when I'd lost about 50 lbs. Since I'm down over 75 from my HW, I do have some. I'm also 5'2, so there's that. Dunno if you'd have much, if any, but it def depends on age, etc. Hope I helped!

No, actually you're just in time to get help and sort your weight loss in a healthy way that doesn't stunt your growth.
You may not care now but trust me when I tell you that you will. I was your age when I got diagnosed with anorexia the first time and I am 38, all my sisters (who had no EDs are one head taller than me). I have been battling EDs my entire life. So if you need to lose a bit of weight, you can do it but it would be wise to get help and actually learn to eat healthy for the rest of your life, instead of starting a path that won't take you anywhere worth going. A nutritionist, a dietician, or just the support from your parents having balanced meals can get you where you want to be weight wise. And because you're so young, chances are your skin will be OK- but do not start a yo-yo life of gaining and losing because that's one way to get loose skin/bad health, guaranteed.
Be safe!

38 here! I don't have a lot of loose skin considering that I have lost almost 50kg during this relapse, but I definitely have inside my thighs- and my ass and my stomach are kinda saggy too. It was hell once I relapsed to have maintenance periods but definitely worth it, since people who only knew me when I was 86kg don't recognize me at 39-40kg and like I said, my skin could be so much worse. I could build muscle and improve it- but I do like my size with clothes on.
I think you're a champion for losing so much, and twice! Would you consider surgery to remove skin? If I ever win the lottery I would definitely check my options, but I am poor, lol.

I went from 220 lbs to 130 lbs rapidly back in 2012 and have loose skin on my upper arms, inner thighs, and lower stomach (about 10 lbs worth, estimated by my dermatologist and surgeon). It's impossible to get rid of without surgery, which isn't covered unless you're getting severe, recurring infections that land you in the hospital.

It depends on your age, metabolism, skin elasticity, and genetics plays a role. Ingesting enough lean protein, water, and doing some strength training workouts will help prevent the loose skin issues. Usually loose skin is seen with rapid weight loss in a high obesity class (BMI 35ish+), but taking precautions never hurts!

Oh, you should be just fine! Even though I was 20 when I first started dropping weight, I lost the first 40 in a short amount of time. Lost 10 more slowly, gained 15, and then dropped the rest pretty fast. Mine isn't terrible or anything (not like something you'd see on My 600 Lb Life thank GOD) and it actually isn't noticeable to anyone else. My boyfriend must think I'm crazy because he doesn't see it, haha. That, and I'm kinda skinny-fat, too.

It really varies by person.

My skin is not very elastic in general, I got stretch marks just from going through puberty. When I was 155-160 (5'6" at the time, now 5'7") as my HW, I definitely have some loose skin issues, especially in my breasts, stomach, and back. It looks awful. :/

If you get really toned it might help the issue, but eh, for me it never did.

Didn't say I meant to cure anything, I don't even know that you actually have an ED, or what kind. I do know that because you're so young you're in time to get help and actually have a better life.
I didn't say just eat either- obviously if you are overweight you need guidance to be at a weight that you're more comfortable with, and a good meal plan and support can help you with that. You want to lol, go ahead. But my answer was good advice. I am 38, half your weight, and not happy at all, I wish I had learned to eat properly and to like myself regardless of my weight when I was 14. Good luck.

im actually not overweight lol and do you think if i could eat more than 1000 cals w/o hating myself deeply that i would maybe like do it? i dont enjoy this ed anymore than you a 38 year old do. eating disorders dont have a age and if it was s easy at 14 then it definitely should be as easy at 38. i mean u are a grown up now right. you should know better

You don't pay attention when you read. I said earlier I was 14, like you are, when I was diagnosed with AN the first time. I am now 38 and still struggling, and I have spent my life battling. I never got proper help when I was your age, I was forced IP and weight restored- but I think that my life would have been better if I had gotten actual support. So I encouraged you to get help/support while you're still growing up and your life in the making ahead of you, because I do think that the younger you get help and use it the more chances you have to develop as a functional human being.

ETA: I didn't mean any harm by saying that you're overweight, your stats give a BMI of 25.5 and you want to lose 40lb, so I assumed. My bad.

dont try and force recovery on anyone. they know they are fucking up their lives and if it was so easy to get help you might had done it too when you where 14. i didn't ask for help to recover i asked about loose skin. you dont gotta tell me im fucking my life up oh boi i know. and also my bmi is 23.8 and while its close to overweight i wouldn't say i am overweight just on the higher end of normal weight, but thank you for your unnecessary comments they didn't help shit.
