On here I'm going to be be listing all of the Kpop diets I will be trying on another topic. This is just a list of Kpop idol diets and exercises they did in order to lose weight. This topic is just to help me know what diets belong to who.

EXO Xiumin Diet 1

Xiumin used to be quite chubby in his debut days, but started dieting around 2016 to lose the baby fat. He has opened up about his struggles with weight loss and body image, and admits to starving himself and over-exercising.

"I was 53 kg during 'Growl' promotions. I didn't eat because I wanted to lose weight. I ate once every two days and only drank coffee."

Note that Xiumin's height is: 173 cm / 5 ft. 8 inches. So being at 53kg is nowhere near healthy and I don't recommend trying this diet.

Diet Template:

Exercise: Walk for at least an hour and dance to GROWL.

Day 1:

Coffee without sugar or creamer (Stevia is allowed)

Day 2:

Coffee without sugar or creamer (Stevia is allowed)

1 meal that is less than 400 calories

Day 3:

Coffee without sugar or creamer (Stevia is allowed)

Day 4:

Coffee without sugar or creamer (Stevia is allowed)

1 meal that is less than 400 calories

EXO Xiumin Diet 2

EXO's Xiumin's second diet is known as the "4-four" method or the "4-hour empty stomach diet".

When he introduced his own diet method he said, "The easiest way to lose weight is to restrict oneself from eating, but it might possibly cause health-related problems."

The diet:

"Walk for an hour in the morning after waking up.

Then eat breakfast. You can enjoy any kinds of food, but remember to make sure you don't feel full. Eat the right portion of food.

Then for 4 hours, don't eat anything. And go ahead with lunch. You can skip it if you desire.

Restrain yourself from eating for another 4 hours.

Then it would be around dinner time. You can have dinner or simply skip it.

But make sure to keep your stomach empty for 4 hours prior to sleeping."

"If you head with this diet program for a month, you would not gain weight. Actually, you must have lost weight to a certain extent."

"However, don't let yourself think 'one day must be fine'. One cheating day makes the next day and the day after next very challenging to a degree that it would eventually make you stop this program. Because it isn't easy to get back to the routine again, patience is very much needed."

"The most important thing is diligence. You have to wake up earlier to work out. The second thing is patience. You shouldn't pause in between, it's hard to start up again."

That's why Xiumin says in order to succeed you need to keep a positive mind set, be diligent and have patience.

The best thing about this diet is fasted cardio, which is done when you walk first thing in the morning without eating anything. Fasted cardio is an excellent way to lose weight. By exercising on an empty stomach, your body pulls from energy stored up in the form of fat, which means that you burn fat quicker. People who do fasted cardio are also shown to burn more calories during the day, leading to rapid weight loss.

Xiumin said that it took him about a month to see results, and after that, the weight dropped off easily. He has been maintaining his low weight since beginning the diet. Using this diet and exercise plan, Xiumin lost 8 kg/ 18lbs.

Diet Template:

Walk for one hour after waking up.

Eat breakfast. This can be anything, but only eat until you are 75%-80% satiated.

No eating for 4 hours.

Eat lunch (can be skipped). This can be anything, but again, don't eat until you are stuffed.

No eating for 4 hours.

Eat dinner (can be skipped). Again, stop before you feel full.

No eating for 4 hours before sleeping.

Note: Keep in mind that Xiumin probably had dance practice and did other workouts while also doing this diet.

EXO Suho Diet

EXO leader Suho talked about his dietary and exercise habits during an interview with TV Report.

He said, "I hardly ever eat any carbohydrates. On a usual day, the only carbs I'll eat is one bowl of rice. I've maintained a diet of mostly proteins and salads for about a year now, and I exercise every other day. I also only go out drinking around five times in a year."

Suho does admit that maintaining such a diet is difficult for him. "I usually really like sweet things," he says. "If the others don't know what they want, when we go drinking I usually grab a bag of cookies. But on the whole, because of my diet I can't eat chocolate and cookies, so it's disappointing."

In another interview he said: "I've been starting a new diet that matches my body. I usually would eat meat but they said it wasn't right for my type of body (tn: probably metabolism). They said that I should plan my diet primarily based on seafood and white rice now."

He also said "I do a lot of sports, including fitness" and "These days it's basketball. My goal is to work hard and level up".

Suho revealed in a live broadcast held via Naver's V app that time spent on eating is a waste of time and one should eat fast.

Diet Template:

Intake and Rules:

  • Don't waste time by eating.
  • Limit carbohydrates to only one bowl of rice.
  • Eat mostly proteins and salads.
  • Don't drink alcohol.
  • Don't eat chocolate, cookies, sweets and junk food.
  • Optional: Don't eat meat, eat seafood instead.

Exercise:

  • Exercise every other day.
  • Optional: Play some basketball.

EXO Lay Diet

EXO's Lay has to stay on his strict diet that his trainer manages for him. However, he has not talked about his diet so this is mostly me guessing what his diet is.

Lay loves to cook and is the cooking "umma" in EXO-M, even when there's nothing to do, he will cook. He also loves eating fruits.

In the episode 'The List' various healthy food choices that help EXO survive their busy schedules where shown. Specifically watermelons.

Diet Template:

Intake and Rules:

  • No chocolates, cookies, doughnuts and junk food.
  • No snacks.
  • No carbohydrates other than a bowl of rice.
  • Stick to mostly eating proteins and salads.
  • Eat a fruit everyday.
  • Optional: Eat watermelon.

Exercise:

Despite having recurrent back pains from doing idol activities, Lay makes it a point to workout in the gym to maintain a strong upper body. In an episode from China's online talk show, 'See You on Monday', gives us a glimpse of how Lay incorporates his workout into his daily work schedule.

He does:

  • Pull ups
  • Weight lifting
  • A form of sit ups
  • Leg raises
  • Mountain climbers

So for exercise try and copy what he does everyday.

EXO Baekhyun Diet

Despite loving food, EXO's Baekhyun went 3 months without carbs, no rice or grains. If he wanted to eat something he would chew it and then spit it out.

Baekhyun also loves to eat apples, it is one of his go-to snacks, and sweet potatoes. In fact for breakfast he eats a sweet potato and an apple, usually ending up leaving about 2 slices of the apple. Afterwards, when he gets hungry he has a chicken shake. The shake includes chicken breast, strawberries, bananas, honey, and ingredients like that all combined.

Diet Template:

Breakfast:

1 apple and 1 sweet potato

Lunch:

Chicken shake

Dinner:

Something small that doesn't have any carbs in it, preferably you chew and then spit out the food

Wow. I can get behind a lot of things for weight loss but a 'chicken shake' sounds absolutely vile. Is this something people do?!

I suppose it would discourage me from actually finishing it I guess? Or maybe start a purging behaviour cause I don't think I could keep it down lol. Either way, win win?
I agree, it sounds disgusting. However, Baekhyun said it stops the hunger and both him and the rest of EXO drink it a lot.

It sounds relatively low in calories so probably why they have it and it could be an easy purge food.

EXO Chen Diet

I couldn't find anything regarding EXO Chen's diet. However, I have still made a diet template of what I think he may eat.

Diet Template:

Intake and Rules:

  • No chocolates, cookies, doughnuts and junk food.
  • No snacks.
  • No carbohydrates other than a bowl of rice.
  • When eating stick to veggies, small portions of meat, smoothies and yogurts.
