Is almond milk safe?

I’ve heard mixed opinions on it, apparently it’s low calorie but very high in fat? If not, what’s the least fattiest milk to drink?

The stuff I buy is almost water anyway. It's Silk's almond/cashew unsweetened. It's 25kcal per cup. I don't pay attention to fat since most of my diet is decently low on fat anyway. It's so low I actually don't count in my calorie counts when making a latte. Only the almond milk at work since that's 60kcal/cup

Omggg I've been craving a nice, milky latte but all my family has in is whole milk and I've been avoiding milk until I can find one that's definitely safe. 100% will be getting some almond milk now 😍

Personally haven't tried it but you can try adding a thickener if it's too thin for you.I don't know how much experience you have steaming almond milk but it's possible to make it creamy and foamy if you can steam it just right. However it's easier to steam it creamy at home with a home steamer than using a commercial one like we have at work. You need a dense microfoam that's hard to get with the fucking fire hoses of steam wands we have

it varies person to person, but for me yes. i just buy the regular unsweetened stuff.

chocolate almond milk is higher calorie but i like adding a tiny splash in my coffee

I prefer oat milk because I think it tastes better and because almond farming used up an absurd amount of water, but yeah, if you need a milk substitute it's a great option. It's still drinking calories, but if it fits in your daily planning then go for it.

Also there's nothing wrong with the fat in almond milk. It's primarily monounsaturated fat, which is one of the "good" fats that lowers cholesterol. Fat helps you feel fuller longer and is a longer lasting source of energy compared to simple carbs. :)

Def check out oat milk though, I love that it can be easily made at home, and it has more protein and fiber than nut milks. It's naturally a bit sweet and is thicker & creamier than nut milk, so I can use plain unsweetened and feel satisfied. I use it in my turmeric lattes on bad inflammation/pain days!

Just count how many grams of fat you have in a day if you're worried, I stay under 10-15g usually if I'm restricting. I think added fat from oil should be a concern, not natural fat from almonds :)
