My friend that I live with knows I have ED history. I have recently started going to the gym again and my BDD is triggered. I'm slightly overweight but I look much more overfit naked or at least I think so (BMI 26.6). I do NOT want him being aware of this at all. he needs to think I am caring for myself. I just have to get a handful of pounds down again; he is going to the gym and I'm scared he secretly thinks I'm fat and ugly (ah, my situationship, my love). we have one bathroom. I'm so nervous. about to go puke

honestly the people i’ve lived with never noticed any smells. but if you’re worried, just make sure you clean up any splatter/stains, don’t leave any tissues or anything in the trash can, obviously don’t leave vomit containers sitting, flush the toilet multiple times if needed, never get vomit in a sink/bath drain, swish with alcohol free fluoridated mouthwash afterwards, and obviously perfume/air freshener/cleaning products can mask the smell. overall though purging in a bedroom tends to be less suspicious than a bathroom tbh

I agree with everything above, but if you have your own bedroom that is going to be the better option if you don't already reapply perfume often. It gets suspicious if you frequently use the bathroom after eating and it's slightly cleaner AND smells like a fragrance. (Wipe your face with witch hazel or makeup remover too. Wiping off with water doesn't fully remove smell in my opinion but I might be paranoid.)

As @pelvix said if you give things a quick clean and spray freshener then you will most likely be fine.

You could also consider avoiding: highly oily foods (takes longer for smells to dissipate, quick rinsing with water may not be sufficient), dairy (Butyric acid contributing to a more 'vomit like' smell), and letting food sit. All not really that necessary though, I only keep it in mind because I'm in a house of 7 with 1 bathroom so quick turnover.

I also try the 'purge then shower' but I know that can be less convenient.
