How many restrictive anorexics are there?

Hi,

Just wondering who else out there is a restrictive anorexic only. No subtypes. No binging. No purging.

Most of the posts are binge and or purging related. I cannot relate or identify with these experiences as I never have.

I am feeling a little spare, stupidly I guess.

I was a purely restrictive anorexic as a teenager, as I got older and had children, I found that it got harder and harder. I binge about once a month at this point, and by binge, I mean have 1000-1200 calories (I understand thats not really a binge, but it is to me). On any other day, I am under 500 calories.

I'm a restricter with binge tendencies. I don't go on a full out binge but it feels like one when really it was the amount I'm allowed to have. I tried to purge a couple times through out the years but can't get a grasp on it plus I didn't like the feeling of throwing up when it happens on it's own--alcohol, flu--with that said. I'm a restricted anorexic, but all anorexics once in a while will have a good size meal. Whether you keep it or get rid of it.

I would say I am. I don't really do much else.

Im a restrictive anorexic. I sometimes say that i binged, but by that i mean that i ate more calories than i should and not that i actually ate a lot. I should probably stop saying it, lol.

But yeah, I dont purge unless i was forced to eat, i prefer to just not eat in the first place!

That was my original diagnosis. After many years of restricting only, for a while, I started purging after eating small to normal amounts of food. I have never "binged" in the sense of eating an objectively large amount of food at a time. I don't really count things like sub-200-calorie unplanned eating occasions as "binges." I haven't purged for several years now. It made me feel awful (physically and mentally).

Restrictive with binge tendencies as well. You can't expect to restrict <300 calories a day without Binging.

I'm also pretty much just restrictive. There are times when I do have "binges" which just means I've eaten about 1700-1800 cals that day. I've had urges to purge, but luckily I've never acted on them much.

I cannot binge/purge. I simply cannot. I'm afraid of the higher numbers in calories and the higher numbers on the scale. I would rather either fast or stick to my 150-200 calorie daily intake. But that's just me.
