Just wondering how your pet helped you, I know animals are amazing especially dogs when it comes to helping u feel better. I get really lonely and wish I had a dog, sometimes I wonder if having a dog would help me or at least not make me feel as shit as I do also.

My dogs can sense my emotions. If I'm anxious then they'll lie on my chest.

I also talk to my dogs a lot and they force me to get out of bed and do things because they're so interested in what you're doing all the time. For example, I walk near where their leads are or near the front door and they'll remind me that they haven't been walked so I know I need to get out the house and take them for a walk otherwise I'd forget that I haven't been outside all day. They also let me know when they're hungry so I get up and feed them in the morning and evening which is useful when I often lose track of time because my daily schedule is so out of whack.

I honestly wouldn't be functional without my dogs.

My cat does everything he can to get to me whenever I'm doing really bad

He will either sit next to me if that's all I need, but also softly bite my hand to help me get back to reality. It's insane.

Sometimes I THINK I'm pissed at him when he wakes me up at night, but later I realise I was actually having a real ptsd nightmare and it was actually perfectly timed. Hell I love him so much lol

God my dog helps me soo much. He's a little chihuahua.

He helps me get out of bed in the morning. First thing when I wake up he's so excited I'm awake and sort of dances and jumps around on his back legs.
How can you wake up in bad mood when this little pure creature is so happy that you are awake.

He comes with me places alot and calms my anxiety so much. Having him there feels like an emotional shield. People talk about him and I find it easier to talk to people about him. Over time he's really gotten me used to social conversations.
If I feel stressed or anything I just look at his little face and I know he loves me so much.
He give me something else to focus on apart from my negative thoughts.
He just sits on my knee in places and loves being out. He rides in my bicycle basket when I go cycling.

He greets me when I get home same way he does in the morning. I'm not lonely anymore. He sleeps in bed with me and cuddles up to me.

I don't think I could be without him.

I'm going away and he has to stay in a kennel for 5 nights. I'm gonna have separation anxiety lol.

I can't have anymore kids so he's like my substitute baby.

All the cuddles. And the love he unconditionally gives me. I know when I go home I won't be alone because he is like a living cuddly toy and always wants hugs and kisses. I can sink my face into his fur and take a deep breath and feel calmer.

I'm never need to be lonely.

He wants to be as close as possible to me or my husband all the time - like this - or will follow us from room to room and sit on one of our feet or if he can't decide who to sit on will sit equal distance in-between us.

Altho my hamster is a loner, he is a joy to have around and I find it relaxing putting food for him, organizing his home and making things for him
Even just watching him zip around is fun and exciting

I also have two cats, one is like my little side-kick, sometimes I think she knows when Im having a rough day, she'll snuggle up close but make herself known like nudge hard against my side and purrr deeply

Lastly but not least, I have a dog and he is my one true cooking show fan, front and center every time and doesn't miss a scrap but heck no to them little trees linda
He really tests my patience, but I love having him around as well

Overall tho, I think the pet that has helped me the most, is my hamster and cat and maybe the hamster a little more
I don't know why exactly, it was just a really exciting experience to learn and watch so far

My sweet boy always lays next to me during the day and it brings me so much comfort (almost all day). He always cuddles with me and my BF the most out of anyone in the house. 💙 it's so nice to have a companion that wants to always be around you and needs you. When I wake up in the morning he's always waiting in the hallway for me to give him morning pets (he doesn't sleep with us cuz he likes to roam the house at night/I close the door so it's quiet and dark). When I do something that's sorta bad/concerning he gives me the most worried expressions and tries to distract me with his silliness. He's a big silly pup with so much personality. I love it when he just wants to go outside for the purpose of getting a treat when he comes back inside, it's so damn cute. Or when he randomly starts spazzing out, he's so quirky and hilarious! I absolutely love him sooooo much. I'd be so lonely without him since my BF works all day long and I have no one else to spend my time with :( 10/10 recommend getting a pet if you can care for and afford one! Plus they eat all your food ;) my bf is always like, now don't just give your food to our dog...ya gotta eat it, I'm like but he wants it more than melol. Animals have always brought me more comfort than humans 💖 my family has a farm and having so many animals is a blessing! The horses and goats are the BEST. Also I'm getting a bunny soon and IM SO EXCITED THAT I HAVE SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TOO!! My pets need me, so I gotta stay alive for them :)

If you want an animal that is emotionally sensitive

Try a parrot

I have parrots, they feel what you feel.
I also have a dog, but she is not even remotely close to aware of my emotions as my cockatoo is.

Parrots have strong senses and can sense each other's emotions in a flock, if one bird gets scared and senses danger, the whole flock will fly away instantly.

If one of my birds gets upset, they all do.

If I'm anxious, the birds anxious, if I'm depressed, so are my birds.

It helps me to actually control my emotions, I want to get my bird out the cage? I have to quiet my anxiety and put on my soft voice , automatically grounds me and makes me feel better.

Also they have such character, and hearing them say 'i love you' just melts your heart ..
Also there's so many tricks and things you can do with your birds, so you'll never be bored. I want to start flight training my parrots, so now I have something we can work on together.

Also, my birds have a lifespan of 80 years. As someone who's lost a lot of pets in their childhood, that's something I need. Not the short life of a cat/dog ..

Awh haha thanks, they also give the best cuddles, they put a paw on each shoulder and smush their face against your cheek. Honestly who needs therapy when you can have a dog hug
I have no idea how they learned half the things they do, they're more human than dog

One of my cats lays on my chest if I'm lying on the couch, and I always feel so comforted to feel her fat little body warming me up.

The other cats come and go, and they help me in other ways. They check on me when I go from room to room. They sit with me.

They're all very beneficial for my mental health and I don't know what I would do without them.

The cuddler.

My horse is my cornerstone. He makes me forget I'm broken. Even when I feel completely hopeless and like I'm suffocating in my own fat he manages to not only make me feel okay but to make me leave the yard with a smile and glimmer of hope. He is worth his weight in gold. When everyone else walks out on me cos of my mental health problems he's right there standing by my side. He was sent to me by the angels. My spirit animal forever :) Ralphy xox

My two little bunnies keep me hanging around. I don't doubt that my husband would take care of them with all his heart if I ever exited stage left, but when I feel utter despair they're who I think of to get me through to the next day.
