During the process it's fine for me.
But the day after having several sessions purging until nothing but water mixed with acid comes out of my mouth is cruel.
My throat hurts from my toothbrush violently hitting against and scratching it, my stomach is hard and hurts as well. I feel every organ inside my body and I can locate exactly where they are. My face is swollen, my hands are dry, the light hurts in my eyes.
And ofc how could I forget: the mental pain and the guilt is way worse than all the physical stuff unfortunetly.

It depends, on a lot of things. Purging is a bit more painful for me nowadays because it's been an everyday thing as my bulimia's worsened recently- it wrecks your throat and leaves little sores and burns on my tongue and the inside of my mouth. I have to use a toothbrush rather than my fingers because my gag reflex is significantly weaker. It also depends on what you're purging. Thick/chunky things that are harder to get up usually strain the body a lot more, whereas liquidy stuff tends to come up easier. Purging is kind of a roll of the dice, at least for me- sometimes it comes up smooth as butter and sometimes it's a battle, even if I've done everything I can to make it easier. It can also cause nausea and headaches. Be sure to drink plenty of water after the fact because purging dehydrates you and fucks up your electrolytes, which is quite dangerous.

i mean at first it sucked cuz it felt like my face was ripping lol but drinking water before during or after a meal made it go back up easier and quicker, ive been purging since like the 3rd grade so its not bothersome anymore

I purge hands free so I mostly feel the pain in my sternum, stomach, ribs & spine a couple hours later or the next day from prodding around and obviously the pressure of vomit continuously coming up, esp when it's like 3 sessions in a row. Bread is a real gamble for me too when it comes to purging bc it'll either cause heartburn or nausea the next day and I never know which of those it'll be till the damage is done.

It doesn't hurt at all for me but then I'm also handsfree for years and I just have to bend over and everything comes out on it's own almost.
Back when I wasn't handsfree yet I barely had a gag reflex and it was very painful I had to violently deep throat my whole hand to get anything up most of the time. These days I can't even imagine how I managed to suffer through this for like over half a year before I slowly became handsfree. No matter how awful it was it never stopped me from BPing lol
