Hey!
2kg isn't bad at all don't be upset about it! Sometimes I won't lose much over 2 weeks and other times I will lose more. I was 52.75kg when I started taking it again and haven't weighed today cause I had a big dinner with my friend last night but yesterday I was 46.55kg so that's 6.2kg and according to my scales 5.1% body fat.
I have 3kg to go before I hit my old LW so I'm pretty confident I'll get there before I run out. I still have one more month worth of pills and another script I bought off someone with 2 repeats on it (so basically another 3 month supply after this last box) but I'm gonna hoard them for next time I think, or for when I'm feeling a binge cycle coming on.
The main difference I feel on 15mg is that I don't feel like I'm on hard drugs all day. Not that I have an issue with being on drugs lol but not the ideal when you work a corporate job and have to hide the chattiness and wiredness.
The appetite suppression isn't too much different. I think 40 reduced it more but I was barely eating so when I came off it my body was fucking starving and I ate everything until I gained it all back. I'm not so worried with 15mg because I've been eating 1200ish most days. The occasional 700-800 day and the occasional 1600 day to mix it up.
My plan when coming off it is to settle into a strict eating plan, just below maintenance maybe 2-300 deficit at most while I take the last of it. Hopefully my body will start getting what it needs before I come off it and can't fight the urges. I'm also going to take 1 every other day for the last week or so, so I'm not stopping it abruptly. If you are organised with it you shouldn't have any issues. Last time it was just because I unexpectedly ran out and had no plan in place whatsoever.
I'm not sure about tolerance but I don't think I've built tolerance to it at this stage. I felt like the appetite suppression was wearing off on the 40mg after 6 weeks or so but I think my body was just taking over because I was under eating so much.
8 weeks on 15mg and I'm still going strong with no binge urges. There has been a few nights last week that I couldn't even stomach the idea of dinner and just ate some crackers instead to get rid of the physical hunger feeling. Or days where I will just eat lunch at 3pm then won't feel an urge to eat for the rest of the day. Definitely will need to be in a good food routine when coming off because it's hard to go from that to having your hunger signals back in full swing while not knowing what/when to eat. I plan to be eating every 3 hours and lots of protein when I'm coming off it and for a good few weeks after.
I do get the phantom cravings too. I'll think I feel like something and think over it for a bit before I'm like hmm nah I don't actually want it. Or even worse, but something, get home, give it to someone else cause you changed your mind and don't feel like it anymore haha
I do feel like certain cravings start to build up over a few days tho, like I've been having cravings come and go for sweet potato chips a few times the last week so I decided to get some with my dinner last night and fit it in my intake to keep it at bay before it turns into an actual binge urge that I can't control if I deny it too much longer.
Honestly on 15mg I think the appetite suppression is the same. If it stops working they recommend coming off the drug altogether rather than increasing dosage as it supposedly makes no difference appetite wise, think it's more that how big your body is determines how much of the drug is needed. Because even 15mg isn't prescribed to anyone below BMI 27 I wouldn't recommend any higher unless you're at a higher weight and your body is built to handle that much.
I've dropped my weight chart below for the last month or so. The drops aren't always drastic so don't be disappointed by 2kg that's plenty in 2 weeks.
And lastly yeah the cost is an absolute bitch. Even with a prescription it's $110AUD. If you have to buy it through dealers it can be like $400 a box but they never have 15mg. I just try to think of the money I save on food by being on it! If you know anyone who is overweight and wouldn't be offended by you asking, see if they will get a script for you and pay them for the dr appt and some for their time.
Depending where you are and what the rules are, I got prescribed it on a Telehealth Doctor app video call. I put my big boofy dressing gown on to make myself look fatter and told her I was 77kg (lol) and was already on it and couldn't get to my primary doctor before I run out and she was happy to give it to me.
If you have any more questions let me know! Happy to help
