does a high heart rate actually burn calories?

I’ve been taking adderall (40mg) for the past few days and it’s been putting my heart rate at 110-130 like consistently all day. My fitbit literally said I burned 3700 yesterday with only 4k steps (I don’t trust the fitbit anyways) and my heart rate was constantly in the “fat burn” zone. So does a higher heart rate really burn that much more calories? I’ve also come to the realization that adderall is super dangerous lmao.

Yes, that is technically what makes you burn calories. For example HIIT workouts, the whole point is just to get your heart rate up for the rest of the day so you burn more calories. Now, I am no doctor so I can't answer this 100%, but from what I have seen and heard yes.

High heart rate does not alone burn massive amounts of calories. I think the fitbit compares your normal/past rest heart rate (not only from one day), it probably has calculated to that you have done something more intense, not taken drugs.
Or atleast this has been my experience with drugs/alcohol related high heart rate and fitbit while being passive.

That shit put my heart rate too high as well and has been black boxed many times for causing sudden cardiac deaths in children I wouldn't necessarily think it impossible to think of some of our bodies comparative to children...also I can personally attest that drug sent me into psychosis many times and the hyperhidrosis problems were real...be careful!
